Integration of the Environmental Education course in the training of undergraduate communication students
Main Article Content
Abstract
Environmental education is of vital importance today, as it aims to raise awareness about the need to preserve and protect the natural environment. The current ecological crisis stems from the interaction between developed and developing economies, which creates significant economic and technological disparities. Environmental problems such as ozone layer depletion, the greenhouse effect, and climate change are evident at both the international and national levels, and are often driven by economic interests that exclude the active participation of communities, institutions, and educational sectors. In this context, implementing innovative educational programs is essential to equip students with the necessary tools and knowledge to understand and address contemporary environmental challenges. The objective of this study is to integrate environmental education into undergraduate curricula, which requires finding suitable teaching strategies. Implementing these strategies will not only equip students with the tools needed to address environmental challenges, but will also contribute to the development of a more conscious and engaged citizenry committed to sustainability.
